Named the Women's DIII News Preseason Player of the Year in October, Jessica McEntee added an impressive bookend to her senior season when she was named the publication's Player of the Year.  The 5-11 senior captain was also selected as a First Team All-American.

“As our Preseason Player of the Year, Jessica had the opportunity to keep this honor with her play this season, and she did,” Women's DIII News Editor Gary Rubin said. “There were many outstanding candidates for this award, but her performance all season long in one of the toughest leagues in the country showed she is the most deserving.”

In addition to this latest honor, McEntee became just the second player to earn University Athletic Association (UAA) Player of the Year accolades three times and became the first Violet tabbed as the D3Hoops.com East Region Player of the Year.

McEntee was also named a First Team All-American by D3Hoops.com for the second consecutive season and also earned a spot on the NCAA Division III State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team, making her an eight-time All-American.

After helping NYU go 23-5 in advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Championships, McEntee finished her storied career ranked third all-time in scoring (1,711) and second in rebounding (1,133) while compiling 50 double-doubles in 108 career games.  She was also the Violets' career leader in free throws made (678), free throws attempted (837) and free throw percentage (81.0).

In her final collegiate season, McEntee averaged 18.7 points and 11.4 rebounds with 15 double-doubles.  She was one of three Violets, male or female, to record more than 1,500 points and more than 1,000 rebounds in their career.  In addition, she became the third NYU women's basketball player to top 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

McEntee's career also ended with her being the UAA's all-time leader in both free throws made (346) and attempted (442).

During McEntee's tenure, NYU went 82-28 and made three NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship appearances, including a trip to the 2007 Final Four and the program's 13th Sweet 16 appearance this season
